New page

GPS in Spain

I was in Spain with my boyfriend for a couple weeks this past summer and for a portion of that time, we traveled the country by car with only a broad map of the country and a GPS navigation system. I know this is nothing new, but what was remarkable was that although I've never been to Spain, we essentially felt like locals while driving. Aside from a few snafus, we traveled around with minimal navigation squabbles and almost no effort on our parts. This was a marked difference from road trips I've made before where the majority of the passenger person's time is absorbed in map reading and routing -- it made for a different, better experience. I don't know about you, but my childhood memories of my parents in the car on car trips include lots of shouting fights. This felt like an improvement.
