Google Waps

Funnily enough, for all my locative enthusiasm, I had a very hard time thinking about a great LBS experience (some lousy ones sprung to mind, though). (I should add that, like Seanita, I used HopStop constantly, and it's terrific).

A few months ago, I was taking my dad on a tour of Chinatown, and after some wandering, I'd lost my bearings a little, and couldn't remember the best way to get to Mott St. I'd enabled internet access on my Nokia 3300 phone for 2 months for an ITP class, though I'd rarely used it. To my surprise, Google Maps still had a functioning WAP version, and it was relatively easy to navigate, and it made things a little easier. And it was the first time I'd actually accessed an LBS from my phone, which felt quite important.
