Voting Experiment, Paparazzi, Blogicks
1. Voting Experiment - Mitch and I are working on a marketplace for voters in non-crucial states to effect voter turnout in swing states. Basic concept: "I'd vote for Barack if someone gave me an iPod". We try to match requesters in swing states with donors in other states. Selling your vote for money or 'other benefit' is illegal so we're trying to find a creative way around the law. Ideas include: Grouping donors into 'interest groups' which can 'lobby' for swing state voter participation, creating a marketplace for non-monetary persuasion, and finally pairing together an exchange if and only if the exchange happens for reasons other than voting ("I would never accept an iPod to vote for Obama, but I would accept an iPod to be your pen pal").
2. Paparazzi - Gawker Stawker + Real Time Uploading of user-generated photos of celebrities. I want to create a real-time map of celebrities in New York City. Sort of like the Hollywood celebrity tour. People would be able to log into the application to see where celebrities are being spotted or upload their own sighting. Photos could also be sold to magazines and tablouds.
3. Blogicks + Plundr - Last semester, I created a building system which allows children to build structures with their hands and then upload them to a virtual world to share with their friends. I'd like to be able to place these structures on to Google Map or Google Earth interface and then allow people to manipulate these structures virtually. Loki + Blogicks Upload = location of my structure in a map interface. Need to create a game concept around people creating and owning structures on a virtual representation of real space.
